Karen R. Codman, AIF®

Investment Advisor Representative

When you read most financial advisors' bios, you may not find words like “mission” or “calling.” But this isn't like most bios, because Karen believes she isn't like most financial advisors. She does have a calling: to help people succeed in life.

She decided to become a financial advisor in order to better pursue that calling.

Karen joined the financial services industry in 1996, and has been responsible for the investments of hundreds of clients ever since. Because many people find managing their finances to be stressful and intimidating, she has dedicated her practice to helping every client find clarity and direction when it comes to pursuing their financial goals.

Before becoming an advisor, Karen was a teacher and a counselor. As such, she believes very strongly in the importance of education. She has carried that belief with her for her entire professional life, and works hard to help each client understand how their investments, the markets, and the economy in general affect their personal situation. Karen also puts a strong emphasis on her own education. To that end, she has taken the time and effort to train as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary, in order to ensure she always works with her clients' best interests in mind. She is a proud graduate of the University of California.

Outside of the office, Karen is an active participant in the community. She is on the board of directors at both the Long Beach Community College Foundation and a committee member with the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce. From 1995 to 2013, she was a Scoutmaster and a member of the Council Board of Directors with the Boy Scouts of America. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, horses, dancing, and most of all, time with her wonderful family (especially the grandchildren).
